Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This page describes how k5 Genie (“k5 Genie”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and web applications (“Service”). This policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains our general data processing practices.
What are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also utilize comparable technologies, such as browser local storage and session tokens, to facilitate key functions like keeping you signed in or remembering your UI preferences.
Categories of Technologies We Use
We categorize the technologies used on our platform as follows:
Strictly Necessary / Functional: These are essential for the operation of the Service. They enable you to sign in (via our authentication provider, Supabase), access your account, mitigate security risks, and remember basic interface settings. These technologies are not used to profile you for advertising purposes.
Payments (Stripe): Subscription and checkout flows are powered by Stripe. Stripe-hosted components may set their own cookies or identifiers to facilitate fraud prevention, risk scoring, and payment confirmation. These are governed by Stripe’s own privacy and cookie disclosures — see the Stripe Privacy Center.
Embedded Media: Certain features, such as calming experiences or educational videos, may use embedded media players. Where we embed YouTube content, we use the privacy-oriented youtube-nocookie.com domain to limit tracking relative to standard YouTube embeds; interactive playback may still involve the provider’s services. These providers may set their own cookies or identifiers to manage playback. If you are concerned about third-party storage, please consult the policies of the respective media providers.
Analytics and Marketing: As of this date, k5 Genie does not load third-party advertising or behavioral tracking pixels. If we introduce optional analytics or marketing tools in the future, we will update this disclosure and implement necessary consent controls before doing so.
Retention
Session-based: Most cookies are cleared when your browser session ends.
Persistent: Certain technologies (like authentication tokens or saved preferences) may persist until you manually clear your browser’s site data or sign out of the Service.
Managing Your Choices
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
Important: Please be aware that blocking "Strictly Necessary" mechanisms may prevent the Service from functioning correctly, including your ability to sign in or complete a subscription checkout.
Browser Controls: Most modern browsers allow you to manage cookies via the "Settings" or "Privacy" menus. For more information, visit AllAboutCookies.org.
International Users
If you are accessing our Service from the EEA, UK, or other regions with specific cookie-consent regulations, please be aware that this policy serves as a general disclosure. We intend to implement region-specific consent banners and compliance logs as our user base expands in those territories.
Updates
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in our technology or integrations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version.
